Research Project Imo

 The British Council is commissioning a research project to map the Creative Economy landscape in Imo State, Nigeria.

The commissioned research will be published and enable the British Council and potential collaborators to access in-depth information about Imo state’s Creative Economy’s potential.

This consultancy is to conduct an analysis of the Creative Economy in Imo State to establish a map of key clusters of creative industry activities and the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) of each, outline key stakeholders and articulate relationships with relevant institutions and organisations. The consultancy will be delivered by (preferably) an organisation ideally based in Imo State (or can demonstrate a good knowledge of the State in application). We will consider individuals that demonstrate an exceptional capacity to deliver on the TORs.

The consultancy will run from 11 December 2019 to 11 March 2020.

ORGANISATION/PERSON SPECIFICATION

The selected research company will deploy personnel who have a strong understanding of the political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental context of Imo State and how these interplays with the creative industries. The lead researcher will have at least seven years’ experience as a researcher or an academic (in a relevant discipline) in Imo State and the surrounding areas in South-East Nigeria. They will have evidence of conducting similar analyses in the past either independently or for a recognised donor/funder/institution

Submission of research instruments –14 December 2019

Interim Report (summary report) Submission – 21 February 2020

Final report (summary and full report) – 11 March 2020

*Feedback may be provided in the interim report. If this were the case, this will be done within two working days of submission of the interim report.
