This Call for Proposals is to identify an associate consultant that will be contracted on a draw-down basis to support British Council West Africa Arts Programme to respond to programme delivery and emerging opportunities in the arts in line with country, regional and corporate priorities.

All the programme areas focus cross cuttingly on inclusion of women, youth and participants from diverse economic backgrounds as well as other marginalised groups.

The selected consultant will be contracted for a maximum of 150 days from 1 May 2019 to 31 March 2020 to provide the services and deliverables as articulated at the start of the consultancy and quarterly afterwards, with reasonable skill, care and ability in accordance with the standards set by British Council in any contractual agreementassociated with the Terms of Reference.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will have:

• Extensive experience in the arts and creative sector either within an institutional, government or non-government setting in Nigeria and at least one other context preferably the UK or another West African country

• Experience of commissioning and managing consultants and partner organisations

• Sector knowledge in the field of arts and programme management

• Partnership development and fundraising

• Experience managing relationships with stakeholders

• Knowledge of digital media tools

• Experience working with diverse cross-cultural teams

• Strong research, writing and public speaking experience in an arts context
