Improving the lives of girls and women in Nigeria

The 2012 Gender in Nigeria Report aimed to influence the policy and development agendas addressing gender equality in Nigeria.

The report will be used to influence key decision and policy makers in Federal and State Government, the National Assembly, religious leaders, bankers, the private sector and civil society. The findings in the report will help development partners design appropriate programmes to address the significant challenge of gender equality and female empowerment, especially in the northern Nigeria, and particularly in education.

Ultimately the goal of this project is to bring about changes in policies and attitudes that result in more equitable outcomes for girls and women in Nigeria.
