Thanks to you social entrepreneur Grace Ihejiamaizu and a Global Changemaker listed as the 16th most influential young Nigerian in 2018.
Grace Ihejiamaizu was one of 60 young people selected from more than 2000 applications to attend the British Council's 2012 Global Changemakers Event.
Global Changemakers was founded in 2007 by the British Council in collaboration with the World Economic Forum as a way to bring the voices and experiences of young people to key policy and decision-makers at World Economic Forum events.
Grace is a University Lecturer as well as the founder of iKapture Networks, a centre for youth development that provides after-school education and services to students and out-of-school youth in Nigeria using creative learning methods and ICT.
Since inception, iKapture has reached over 3,000 young people. She is also the founder of OpportunityDesk.org, the largest online platform that shares relevant opportunities for youth across the world, which has connected over 1.4 million people with opportunities globally as of 2018.
Grace is committed to shaping a world where young people have unlimited access to quality education and opportunities. She volunteers her time to mentor young people especially women.
“I am driven by young people’s energy and creativity which when properly channelled, can bring meaningful changes,” she says.
She’s also a curator of the Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, Calabar hub. Her work as a social entrepreneur has earned her several awards and recognition. In 2011, she was named one of Google’s 12 brightest Young Minds and a Global Changemaker in 2012. In 2013, she won the Future Awards Africa Young Person of the Year Prize and in 2016 and she became a Mandela Washington Fellow of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).
In 2018, she published her first book 'Go Global with Opportunity', aiming to help people find opportunities around the globe.
