Introduce a neighbourhood policing scheme

The current style of policing in Nigeria is reactive and focuses mainly on responding to reports of crime. A proactive patrol that is embedded in the community could ensure that the police is better addressing key safety issues.

J4A worked with the Nigeria Police Force to introduce a neighbourhood policing scheme. Neighbourhood policing teams, also known as "neighbourhood beat officers" or "2x2s", were deployed to various communities. The role of the officers was to patrol and ensure that they have direct, daily, and routine contact with community members.

Please download our how to guide and tools on how to introduce a nieghborhood policing scheme. We hope you find them extremely useful.

Good luck in implementing this worthwhile Initiative. If you have any queries please contact us
