The Human Security Advisor for the Swiss Emabssy, Jasna Lazarevic, the Deputy Project Coordinator for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC), Valerie-Anne Taillandier and Child Protection Specialist for the UNICEF, Ophilia Karumuna visited a J4A supported Model Police Station (MPS) at Garki, FCT. The visit which was aimed at lesson learning for the visitors was also used as an opportunity to showcase J4A’s intervention model in the security and justice sector.
The guests were received by the Garki Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Gomwalk. Others in attendance includes the Head of Training & Development in FCT, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Daniel, Sean McCormick a J4A consultant and officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). During the visit, DPO Gomwalk gave an in-depth analysis of the J4A programme, its interventions, benefits and impact to NPF and community as a whole.
At the end of the visit it was agreed that a non-MPS site would be visited in order to compare and contrast impact and achievements of the adopted model. J4A “How to Guide” and other operating materials will be made available to the visitors for future reference purpose.
