What if we stopped putting limits on children and started listening to them instead?
Meet Oluwalonimi. She’s a bright, curious, and passionate secondary school student who also happens to have cerebral palsy. In a world that too often focuses on what children with disabilities can’t do, Nimi’s story reminds us just how much they can when given the chance.
‘Every Child Can’ is a heartfelt documentary that shines a light on what true inclusion looks like. It follows Nimi’s journey and the people walking alongside her family, teachers, allies, all working to make sure no child is left behind.
Why this matters
Inclusion isn’t charity. It’s not about ticking boxes or doing the ‘right thing.’ It’s about building a world where everyone gets to thrive. When we design schools, communities and systems that include children with disabilities, we don’t just change their lives, we make society better for all of us.
This project is part of British Council’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in Nigeria. Through it, we’re calling on educators, parents, policymakers, and young people to join us in reimagining what’s possible.
