About the Season
The UK–Nigeria Season of Culture 2028 brings together artists, institutions, and audiences across both countries. Delivered by the British Council with the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, it runs from June to December 2028 with legacy activity through 2029.

Expression of Interest - now open
We are inviting the cultural and creative sectors in both the UK and Nigeria to tell us what they would like to do as part of the Season.
This is not a funding application. We are gathering ideas, identifying partners, and starting conversations. Whether you have a fully formed project or an early idea, we want to hear from you. Send your response by email to UKNigeria.SeasonofCulture@britishcouncil.org by 14 September 2026. Keep it to two pages or fewer, covering who you are, what you would like to do, which focus area it sits in, and whether you have a partner in the other country.
We are holding two online sessions to answer your questions about the EOI, the Season, and how to respond.
- Session 1: Monday 17 August 2026, 11.00 WAT — Register here
- Session 2: Monday 7 September 2026, 11.00 WAT — Register here
Both sessions cover the same ground. You are welcome to attend one or both.
If you have questions before the sessions, write to UKNigeria.SeasonofCulture@britishcouncil.org
