Our Vision

To strengthen Africa’s creative economy by developing inclusive, skills-based platforms that support emerging talent and spotlight African stories for global audiences.

What We Do

With a clear diagnosis of the sector, we designed Film Lab Africa in response to feedback from industry stakeholders shaping a relevant, responsive programme that is delivered through partners with the right expertise, structure, and networks.

Through a dynamic blend of training, mentorship, production grants, industry exposure, and showcasing, Film Lab Africa focuses on:

  • Screenwriting, producing, directing, and digital storytelling
  • Script-to-screen development for short films and episodic content
  • Writers' residency and industry engagement with local and international experts
  • Cross-sectoral dialogue on policy, inclusion, and climate storytelling
