Meet the Judges' Panel

Anas Yazid

Anas, a 2009 MSc graduate in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London, is the founder of Yoda Box—an EdTech company enabling children to access educational videos offline.

In 2021, Yoda Box successfully transferred its premium educational content catalog to UNICEF for wider distribution. Grateful for the impact of UK education on his career, he has returned to pursue a PhD. He also currently serves as a Special Advisor to the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI.

 

Adun Okupe CA PhD

Adun Okupe is the Executive Director of The Sahara Centre, a think tank dedicated to promoting African Solutions for African Societies. 

With a PhD in Strategic Tourism Leadership from the University of Surrey, a Masters in Globalization and Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, and a first-class Business Economics degree from the University of Keele, she is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of various professional bodies.She is a fellow of The Higher Education Academy.

Chiamaka Chinwendu

Chiamaka is a certified project management professional and social sector manager with a background in Consulting and Development. Currently serving as Project Manager, Nigeria at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, she coordinates nationwide projects and drives Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives across the Africa team. She has also implemented programs like LEAP Africa across Africa. She holds a master’s in development economics and policy from the University of Manchester.

Dr. Balogun Israel Adekunle

Israel is a pioneering Nigerian medical doctor and disability advocate, honored as the first Nigerian to win the Global Study UK Award by the British Council.

He holds two master’s degrees: public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and another in International Comparative Disability Law and Policy from the University of Galway. He led the first Disability Audit in a Humanitarian setting for the British Government's Northeast Transition to Development Initiative.

Femi Balogun

Femi is a seasoned researcher and impact expert specializing in youth development interventions across Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, and Ghana.

With a decade of experience, he has spearheaded projects in job creation, employability, social innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is recognized for his contributions to evidence-based policy making and partnership building. He holds master's degrees from King's College London and the University of Lagos, with a bachelor's degree from Covenant University. 

Natalie Beinisch

Natalie is Executive Director of Circular Economy Innovation Partnership in Lagos, which focuses on research, advocacy and programming that promotes Circular Economy business and investment opportunity in Nigeria. Before moving to Lagos, she set up the Engagement Programme for Aegon Asset Management’s Responsible Investment team and headed the Academic Network at the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment in London. She has a PhD from the London School of Economics in the UK. 

Professor Muktar Gadanya, MFR

Muktar, honored with the Presidential National Honour of Member of the Order of Federal Republic (MFR) at 29, is a Professor of Public Health and Consultant Public Health Physician at Bayero University/Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Nigeria.

As a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, he received accolades for his academic achievements, essays on globalization including winning prestigious prizes. He holds an MSc from the University of London/London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. 

Tope Sanni

Tope is the Head of Operations at Pawstudios Africa. She also serves as Programmes Director at the Lagos and Abuja Fringe festivals, where she curates diverse artistic expressions and facilitates Masterclasses in Marketing Communications and Creative Economy.

She is a seasoned producer, known for performances such as 'Béeré,' 'Colour Me Pink,' and 'Esther’s Revenge,' which won the Brighton International Encore Series Award. She holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Lagos.

Isah ‘The Prince’ Matankari

Isah 'The Prince' Matankari, is a Nigerian rapper, creative strategist, and cultural organizer. He received the British Council National Culture and Creativity Impact Award for his contribution to creativity in Sub-Saharan Africa (2023)

He serves as TEDx Wuse Curator and Founder.Co-founder of Creative Culture, an Abuja-based edutainment start-up, He has played a pivotal role in nurturing Abuja's creative industry, hosting over 52 events and creating paid opportunities for over 150 young creatives
