See the registration process for private candidates below:

Please note that private candidates who wish to sit for Secondary checkpoint will be required to complete an offline form at the British Council office. Private candidates for Secondary Checkpoint do not need to register online. The registration forms can be downloaded from this web page.

Also note that we do not offer Primary Checkpoint exams to private candidates.

 

Step 1: Complete your registration form online

CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL EXAMS - OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2016

Complete the online registration by referring to the specific subject code list given below in the documents section and submitting it through the "Online Registration Link" which is now active.

Step 2: Payment Offline

Offline Payment Methods are available only. 

You will be required to use offline payment option. Please pay the amount quoted on your registration summary by Banker's draft addressed to British Council. 

We accept bank drafts drawn from any Nigerian bank therefore you do not need bank account numbers to buy a bank draft. Please visit any Nigerian Bank and request to buy a bank draft in favour of British Council.

 

 

Step 3: Submit your registration

You will be required to submit the following documents at the British Council office.

  • Login to your email account to take a print out of the “Registration Summary”

  • Place your signature on the registration summary

  • Affix three passport size photographs to the “registration summary”

  • Copy of your valid international passport (or National ID Card or Permanent Voters' card)

  • If you are under 18 years old, please submit the Parental Consent form (download from here)
  • Bank draft of the total amount stated on your registration summary. Banker's draft can be drawn from any NIgerian Bank and should be addressed to British Council
  • Previous results sheets/statement of entries (if you are retaking from the previous exam sessions)

Step 4: Receive your Statement of Entry

Once you have completed step one and two, you will receive your Statement of Entry and information about your examination venues approximately three weeks before your exams.

NEED TO AMEND YOUR ENTRY? 

You can make amendments to the entry you have made. Please note that amendments are subject to an additional payment as specified in the information sheet.

There are two opportunities to sit IGCSE and GCSE O-/A-/AS-level examinations every year.

Examinations with Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) take place in May/June and October/November.

When to register

The two examination boards have different registration dates. Please check below to find the best option for you or your institution. 

Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) - May/June examinations.

Normal Registration: 05 January - 07 February 2017

Late Registration: 08 February - 03 April 2017
